Iscove’s medium (IMDM) is a modification of Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle’s Medium (DMEM) containing selenium, additional amino-acids and vitamins, sodium pyruvate, HEPES buffer, and potassium nitrate instead of ferric nitrate.
IMDM supports murine B lymphocytes, hematopoietic tissue from bone marrow, B cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide, T lymphocytes, and a variety of hybrid cells.
Its formulation does not contain L-Glutamine and HEPES.

Formulation without L-Glutamine and HEPES contains phenol red
Glucose concentration: 4.5 g/L
To supplement with L-Glutamine:
- Addition of L-Glutamine 100X, 200mM solution (ref: X0550): 20 ml/l
- Addition of L-Glutamine powder (ref: P1031): 0.584 g/l
Supplements should be added to the medium as sterile supplements.
